Two Weeks Notice The weather in Pittsburgh is oddly cool and autumnal. Which is odd for August, but it matches my back-to-school mood. My summer internship freelance work is coming to a close and while wrapping up my projects, my thoughts can't help but flash forward to two weeks from now when Fall Orientation happens.I am so not ready to go back. I've gotten used to working regular hours again and (gasp!) getting paid. Unlike last year, when it was new and fresh and thrilling, I now know what the demands of graduate school are. School is very rewarding, but it'll eat up as much of your life as you let it, and you can't help but let it eat up a lot of it. To quote Carl DiSalvo re: grad school, "It's your $60,000" so you want to spend it wisely. You're paying a lot for it, so you want to get a lot out of it, and that involves giving a lot to it: your time, your attention, your passion. I just need to get my head and heart back into school mode. In the same way I had to lay school aside to go back to work, I have to lay work aside to go back to school.

The Last of Them The last of my former classmates who were looking for jobs have found them. Ben is off to frog design as a Sr. Design Analyst and Rob has accepted a job at Macromedia as the usability specialist on Flash. I'm so jealous! Congrats, gents!
